spca committee

Gerhardt joined to committee in 2018, assisting initially with the Marketing of the Society before taking the chair in October 2018. His business, NETPOSITION, provides Internet Services as well as Web hosting with clients all over South Africa. Gerhardt also created the local Facebook Community group Jeffreys Bay online  in February 2016 and understands the value of online marketing.

After spending almost  20 years in the SA Navy serving in various posts after completing his Naval Officer’s training, he brings a vast knowledge of people and resource management to the table and is well suited to take the society to the next level, optimizing modern technology for management purposes.

He ran a very successful educational anti fireworks campaign during September 2018 within KOUGA reaching out and involving many schools in the region. In May 2019 the KOUGA Municipality approved a Kouga Animal Management Committee proposed by him.

“I am very proud to be associated with SPCA ASSISI  with a strong committee supporting me. We hope to make a difference in the lives of all animals in the KOUGA Region.”  he said.

Operations Manager

Natassja has served on the committee since 2016, having been involved with fund raising activities, marketing and media. Today she looks after the Human Resources and Operational aspects.

In the absence of a Fund Raising manager, she also manages this portfolio. She is indeed a very active member of the society.

Natassja is employed full time as a director of ACS Empowerment Solutions and provides a Consultation service to many businesses in the Eastern Cape with regards to BEE, employment equity and skills development.

Financial Manager

Samantha’s roll In the committee is to assist in the oversight of the financial and operational controls of the society.

Samantha is a qualified CA currently working for the Co-Op in Humansdorp. She has almost 8 years’ experience on the finance side of retail operations and love what she does.

Samantha and her husband  have been living in Jeffrey’s Bay for the past 10 years and are both passionate about the well-being and care of animals.

She  participates in as much volunteer work as her schedule allows and love hitting the trails with her mountain bike whenever possible.

Municipal Laiason

Suzanne has been managing animal affairs in Jeffreys Bay for many years. She managed the SPCA Charity shop in Jeffreys Bay very successfully after handing it over. She has build a good relationship with  officials from KOUGA Municipality, which is crucial for the proper management of animals in our region.

Cassandra was born and raised in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape. Her father was a dedicated SPCA member and she spent many weekends helping out at the Uitenhage SPCA, cleaning kennels, taking dogs for walks, brushing down the donkeys and giving all the animals loads of lovies.

She is an Animal Warrior in every sense – believe in “Being the Voice for the Voiceless” . As an ex- SAPS Sergeant, she has nerves of steel when it comes to animal abusers and will take on anybody who abuses animals in any shape or form.

Cassandra owns 3 rescue dogs, Dumbi, a Transkei Terrier or Africanis (adopted from SPCA Assisi in 2011), Rocky, a Ridgebrat (my “foster-failure” and a HUGE Momma’s boy) and little Freya, a Pitbull (rescued out of Tsitsikamma). She also has 4 rescue cats, Copper (a Maine Coone), Birdie (a loveable Tortie), Sebastian (my Ginger Ninja) and little Cola (a fluffy black kitty with golden eyes).

She recently received her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing Assistant, which she intends putting to use helping out at the SPCA Assisi Clinic and giving back to the community and their animals.
